Post Forwarding does not work for Siemens Speedstream 4300
« on: October 30, 2011, 05:37:23 PM »

I cant get the Port forwarding to work with the Simple Post forwarind software.

So I tried to manually do it and I keep getting this error message.  The IP I am trying to input is 192.168.1.103

NAPT server IP address is not a valid host LAN address.

If I change the single 1 digit to a 3 digit number, it will take the addition, but of course that is wrong.  It is looking for a number in this formatt  000.000.000.000 and not 000.000.0.000

Can someone help?

Post a screen shot of the port forwarding page in your router

That is because the IP should be 192.168.254.103 or what ever your IP is

Not 192.168.1

That is the number that the Simple port forwarding software came up with.

You must have more than 1 network card installed on your system. CIn the program you can click it to show you your IP and it will list all the network cards on the system

no, just one net card I believe.  Here is my IPconfig....see attached

I also called Windstream to see what they said.  I am trying to set up a Minecraft server for my son and I am not an expert at all this.

Windstream said the following:

IPv4 = 192.168.254.1 and told me to use 192.168.254.50 for gaming
subnet mask = 255.255.255.0
default gateway they said to use 192.168.254.254 and not  the 192.168.1.1 that my config shows
DNS they said to use 166.102.165.13 or 207.91.20 and not the 192.168.254.254 which my config shows.

What do I do next??

Thanks :cheesy:

Set up the IP info like they said to do on your system. You can use my simple static Ip program to make it easier :-)
http://www.pcwintech.com/simple-static-ip

And then make sure your port forwarding is set to 192.168.254.5

See attached for how I set it up the post forwarding and my adapter and then I got no internet connection so had to change it back to original settings as usual.    .......  :cheesy:

Not sure what I am doing wrong here.

When setting the IP to static try setting the DNS to 192.168.254.254

Or try Google DNS 8.8.8.8

See if you can get online then.

Does it make a diffference that besides my Siemens router, I also have a Linksys wireless router in between?

Perhaps I should have mentioned that before.

That might be the problem lol

Is the device your forwarding to connected to the linksys?

My computer, Laptop, XBox, Itouches are all connected to the Linksys wireless router that is then plugged in to my Siemens Lan router provided from my ISP.  The Siemens router is what I assume I need to connect to for Post Forwarding?  So you are not coming to Cleveland??  LOL

Ah, follow this, then setup the port forwarding rules in the linksys.
