Port 25565 is closed for some reason Help
« on: October 21, 2011, 04:19:34 PM »
Hi everybody, i have made a server and i can log in and everything. But when i tell my brother and his friends to log in from different states, they cant the server say that the server says (CAN'T REACH SERVER). I portforwarded and everything, turned off firewall, went on router and put the port in the router website my router is (D'Link DGL-4500). Also i went on CMD and did the ivp4 on the server.properties and everything. I went on www.portfoward.com and followed the instructions and when i finished, i went on www.yougetsignal.com and it had said that port 25565 is closed with 74.2*3.7*.1*7 and i tried other ports but they dont work either. I went on every google website that i thought could help me with the problem but nope, i got no solution. Also, i went in my firewall and allowed minecraft server in the firewall and nothing is happening. So im hoping you guyies could help me. THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP. Please help.. its hard to play a server when nobody can see what i have built.
    Help Please

First thing is to try my port tester
http://www.pcwintech.com/simple-port-tester

Post a screen shot of the results, also post a screen shot of the port forwarding page in the router.

No need to PM me, and email me and post in the forum. Just post in the forum and I will always reply. I was out with my kids so I didn't reply for a few hours

OK port forwarding rule looks good. :-)

Now 2 more things.

1. Make sure DMZ is off in the router.
2. In the router find the WAN or Internet IP address of the router. Does it match the IP address on this page?

Your router you log in with 192.168.0.1 (192.168.0.10 is your computers IP not the routers) that is its LAN IP. We need to know it WAN or Internet IP.
Log into the router and check the WAN status page and you should see it.

No need to start a new topic to do teamviewer.

I have teamviewer as a last resort. You dont need to post any screen shots. Just find those 2 pages I posted in your router and find the IP on them
