remote access to router and webcams
« on: October 04, 2011, 05:25:15 PM »
Hi, I have a security cam attached to a motorola sbg900 and have tried for weeks now to get it accessible via the internet. I have included a copy of all the camera settings and router settings. I am desperate and am pulling my hair out trying to get this done. I can view the camera from the local IP address but cannot get it to work remotely. I would really appreciate any help you could give! Thanks!!!

The IP address in the file is old......

Can you post the network setup screen for the camera as well?

I also noticed 2 port forwarding rules but they where pointing to different IP's.

Next time just put your picture in paint save it as a jpg and upload it, be a lot smaller

I noticed in the router you have the rule in the trigger page instead of the port forwarding page. Set the rule on the port forwarding page and let me know when it is done and I will try to connect

Shane,

I have disabled the trigger and there is already a rule in Port Forwarding so you should be able to try it now.... Thanks, I am pulling my hair out with this.

Still not working.

Lets check a few things.

1. In the router see if you have a DMZ page, if you do make sure it is disabled.
2. In the router find the WAN or Internet IP address, does it match the IP on this page?

Also post a screen shot of the port forwarding page

Shane DMZ is disabled, the IP's match. Here is the router port forwarding screen. I have disabled port 8001 in it as I used it to check if my ISP was blocking ports.

IN the camera setup you have the gateway and dns set to 192.168.0.4
They both should be 192.168.0.1

new IP address is 66.189.40.12. I have tried open port finder and it says my ports are not open. Firewall says otherwise.

Still not working, yet everything looks fine. We need to see if port forwarding is working at all.

I want you to setup a port forwarding rule to your computer, do port 1979. Then use my port tester and see if it works.
