PS3 NAT type 3 want to change it to NAT 2
« on: September 26, 2011, 02:08:58 PM »
Hey my topic tells you the story and so far ive spend 6-8 hours on fixing this issue without success, im from Denmark so if my english is a little bad I apoligize in advance.

At home we have 3 modem looking things and i can describe them as, 1. Internet company modem, 2. Wireless DLINK and the 3rd is for connecting a TV device for channels (Dreambox) and a phone. I have tried opening the ports on both DLINK and Internet company´s modem without success and also tried DMZ method. I have tried most method explained on the net, but something weird happened a few weeks before. My nephew pulled every cable of the modems so i had to re-insert them back so we could use the net and tv again, but at that time, my dad plugged them in some weird way that when i tested the Internet test on my PS3 it actually appeared on NAT 2. But our Dream box stopped working so we replugged them and when everythings worked (Internet, phone and dreambox) my NAT turned back to 3.

So what i think is, that the main problem with the NAT type IS the plugging of cables and that maybe we dont need the 3rd "modem"? im actually not sure what it is but maybe a router that helps multiple cables for use of internet?

Please help :(

It should, on the port forwarding page look for a part called "Default Server" that is DMZ

Zyxel Prestige 260R2-61 (Internet provider modem)
|
Wireless modem (DLINK)

Is your computer hooked to the D-Link?
Find the WAN or Internet IP in the D-Link, that IP will be put into the default server in the Zyxel.

If your computer is behind the 3rd modem let me know

I cant find the place to enter the IP on my Zyxel modem, its really a bugger modem, very few options available.
But i noted some options available on the WAN setup here. (My computer is used through Wireless USB Internet Catcher)

Mode: Router
Encapsulation: PPPoA
Obtain an IP Address "Automatically"

"SNMP" Blocked from WAN <-- this is on the Internet Security options

Heres some other informations from the System Status.

System Name:
ZyNOS F/W Version: V3.40(ADC.8) | 08/22/2007
DSL FW Version:TI AR7 07.00.02.00
Standard:ADSL2+ Mode

WAN
IP Address:77.215.170.148
IP Subnet Mask:255.255.255.255
Default Gateway:MyISP
VPI/VCI:0/ 35

Host Name:      IP Address              MAC Address
NatRouter         10.0.0.2          00-1F-C6-DB-C6-F0

Can you find a port forwarding page in the Zyxel?

Post any screen shot of the Zyxel so I can see it. If you can find the port forwarding page get a screen shot of it.

Remove rules 2, 3 & 4. Put your PS3 IP in rule 1

Is your PS3 set to a static IP?

Reason why i as is because the rules in the port forwarding page you have to .250

So in the default rule you put the IP of the PS3. Check and see if your router has a firewall settings page, if it does post a screen shot of it
