Question on Unix/Linux service ports.
« on: September 26, 2011, 04:56:26 AM »
I played around with the port checker from an other site and I noticed something odd ( http://portforward.com/help/portcheck.htm )

When I checked one of the service ports, it reported back that the port is in use by another program.

Which odd, because

#1 I have nothing else listening on that port.

#2 When I run the program with root/admin power, it works fine.

Do you have any idea(s)?

Please and thanks.

I don't support their port checker program, and I have never used it and I don't know how it works. Sorry bud
