port forward Centurylink 660R modem - Trendnet TEW672GR router
« on: September 02, 2011, 05:02:08 PM »
trying to port forward thru a centurylink 660R modem router and a Trendnet TEW-672GR router.

Have set the following in the 660R modem router
1)Firewall default policy set to permit for all 4 connection types.
2) NAT/SUA entry set to direct ports 1000 - 65535 to IP address of router (192.168.10.1).

The following settings have been made in the TEW672GR router
1)An entry is set in the DHCP reservation table to reserve 192.168.10.102 for the computer.
2)In the virtual settings table, entries have been created to route UDP/TCP ports 5198 and 5199 (2 entries)  to 192.168.10.102  .

Using the simple port tester I am not able to get either of these ports 5198 5199 to function.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

Your behind 2 routers, so you need to do one more setup

Let me know how it goes. :-)

Not sure exactly what I need to do, but here is what I tried. The Embarq m/r does not have a DMZ function. However, it does have an entry in the NAT table that I think is supposed to be a form of DMZ. This is the first line?
So I deleted the entry to route ports 1000 - 65535 to 192.168.10.1 (router IP)  and entered 192.168.10.1 on the first line.  Tried simple port tester, still fails.
Did I miss something??
Thank you

Is the 192.168.10.1 the lan address? If so that's the wrong IP. Log into the Trendnet and find its WAN or Internet IP. That is the IP that should be in the rule in the Embarq

This isnt your model, but it is an example of where to look :-)
