Port Forward on Westall 9100em
« on: September 02, 2011, 03:15:08 PM »
Been trying to Port Forward on the Westall 9100 em (Minecraft port, 25565) with no success. Used Simple Port Forwarder and utilized the test and it still did not work. I even DMZ'd my LAN IP address and the ports still will not open. Any help would be appreciated.

I've got it on minimum and I've set Windows Firewall to have Minecraft Server set as an exception. Still failed the test on the tool.

OK, run my port tester program
http://www.pcwintech.com/simple-port-tester

And post a screen shot of the results. This will allow me to check if you have more than one network on your system and what your local ip is

That screen with the other one you posted should help me see whats going on.

BTW I forgot to mention I also have TV package with Verizon, so that may have something to do with it.

OK go ahead and turn off DMZ in the modem if you haven't yet.
We need to find out if the problem is in the modem or your system.

Do you have another system we can port forward to and test?

If it works then we know the problem is on your system. if it fails then we know it is the modem/router.
Also when was the last time you power cycled the modem?

Last time I power cycled was a few days ago. I'll go and try port forwarding on another computer now.

OK then it sounds like it is in the router.

Go ahead and power cycle the router and lets give it another go.

Alright, I'll power cycle and I might even try to reset to default settings to see if that works.

Something odd, I just noticed that the Verizon port forwarding rules, 7 of them are all the same. You should only need 1 rule for each port. Yet port 35000 is done 7 times.

So what can I do about it? :( I just saw that too. I'm not so sure that the Router was properly setup and it doesn't seem like a reset would help.

I helped another user a while back, the Verizon tech set the port forwarding rules wrong, had forwarded every single port to the tv lol

He had to call and have tech support fix it over the phone. You may need to do the same.
