EVEN MORE trouble, from the starcraft guy
« on: August 22, 2011, 11:44:08 PM »
back again, here was my original post:
http://forums.pcwintech.com/index.php/topic,1445.0.html

I have been setting DMZ hosting to the ip of 192.168.1.3
this works for a few days, then I can't reach any sites at all.

I still have the DI-604 and the M1000 dual router set-up as before
I attempted to do the advanced port forwarding on the m1000 like you suggested but have run into errors
"ip address and lan address are not in the same subnet"

I tried to follow the directions step by step but could not get it to work.

can you step me through what needs to be put into each box, on each router?
the port I need to forward is 6112

I put that into both port ip range boxes, so in essence 6112 to 6112. correct?
what do I need to put in the remote port ip range boxes below? the same thing? or leave it blank

First thing is I need to see how things are currently setup

Post a few screen shots for me.

1. The results from my port tester app
http://www.pcwintech.com/simple-port-tester

2. A screen shot of the DMZ and or port forwarding page in your router. (I also need to know what the WAN or Internet IP is in the router)

3. A screen shot of the DMZ page in the modem

2.) http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/8225/unledyu.jpg

some of those virtual server entries are defaults, as I just recently reset both my router and modem. can you advise me as to which of those entries I can delete? I don't have anything else forwarded besides starcraft, as you can see at the bottom.

also, my router is the DI-604 E revision, with the most current firmware available, v3.53

3.) for some reason, I can no longer access the modem by typing in 192.168.1.1 in the address bar.. it loads for a few seconds, then brings up a search results page pertaining to the common instances. this is new as of today, but I assume this is due to having reset the modem via pushing the tiny little button with a paperclip in the back? I did that as well, hoping to resolve the issue. how else can I access the m1000 options?

I am connected to the internet fine.

Nice :-)

Looks like what ever you did you got the modem into bridge mode, you can tell because now the D-Link has the internet IP and you are no longer behind 2 routers
http://img830.imageshack.us/img830/294/unledgv.jpg

So now you just need to fix the port forwarding rule.
Your local IP is 192.168.0.2
http://img29.imageshack.us/img29/596/unledihf.jpg

Yet you have the port forwarding rule pointing to 192.168.0.100
http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/8225/unledyu.jpg

Update the rule to point to 192.168.0.2 and give the port tester another try
