Ports still closed?
« on: August 02, 2011, 11:49:14 AM »
I use the port forwarder to do the 25565 port thing for my minecraft server, adn everything works and goes fine and works right up untill I test it, it allways says failed, I've set my ip to static, I've tried to make sense of the firewall! But nothing seems to be going my way, can someone either teamviewer me and do it or give me some suggersions please?

Thanks.

Lets take a look. Post a couple of screen shots.

1. A screen shot of the main window of my program
2. A screen shot of the port forwarding page in the router

Lets go from there

You have the wrong IP in the port forwarding rule

Go to the port forwarding page in the router, edit the rule and change the local IP to 192.168.1.2

You currently have it pointed to 192.168.1.1, which is the IP of the router, you want the IP of your computer

I should think about adding a check in the program to let users know if they do that :-)

OK in the program you have it set for port 25565 Yet in the port forwarding rule you have it set to 25564

Which port did you need? Which ever it is change the one that is wrong then try the port tester (Step 7) again

What ever port is in the rule in the router is the port you want to test with.

But did you change the port in the router to 25565 first or is it still 25564?

Lets start checking
http://www.pcwintech.com/common-problems-fixes-port-forwarding

First, find the WAN IP in the router.
Does it match the IP on this page?
