Portforwarding on NETGEAR
« on: July 31, 2011, 05:28:10 PM »
Im trying to portforward an rsps on my NETGEAR WNR2000 and I am using Comcast, I have gotten several experts who have made a rsps but still no luck. I used your software and it still does not work. I can use teamviewer and skype. Also, if anyone can get it to work, please inform me on how to do it again in case something like this happens again.

I have a lot of software, which one did you use?

I save teamviewer as a last resort

Post a screen shot of the port forwarding page in the router, this way I can check the rules.

Also download and run my port tester
http://www.pcwintech.com/simple-port-tester

And post a screen shot of the results with it

i used canyouseeme.org to see if the port is open and it says connection times out. Also, I am using the simple portforwarder and the port checker it comes with and it still does not work. Also I have to use no-ip. Everyone who teamviews me says its correct but it wont work.

Need 2 more screen shots.

1. In your router go to basic settings. Grab a screen shot there.

2. Open my port tester program, or open the simple port forwarding program and take a screen shot of the main window

Hi again, sorry for gravedigging but please read this since I am still in need of help. I have gotten the other two screenshots ready. I have also tried using Utorrent and Hamachi but neither work. And I use no-ip for all of this.

I have tried that and I still can not get it to work. I did exactly what it said then I used uTorrent and canyouseeme.org said it was working only when I used uTorrent. I mentioned teamviewer as an option because I hardly know anything about portforwarding. I only got it the first time because it was with one router and I used uTorrent.

It still does not work. I will tell you every step I did.

1.Opened wireless netgear and saw the 10.1.10.### which is the comcast ip.
2.I typed that in on search bar and brought me to the comcast wired router.
3.Entered user and pass and went to dmz.
4.No-Ip says my ip is 98.221.##.### so I put that in on the dmz server.
5.I made sure it was enabled and it did not work.
6.Then I tried all of my IP's including the netgear IP, my computer IP, and the IP no-ip gave which I think is the WAN.
7.None of them worked, I seriously tried it all.

You don't put your internet IP in DMZ. Log intot he Netgear, on the basic settings page you will see the WAN or Internet IP the netgear has got from the comcast modem, that IP is what you put into DMZ in the comcast modem.

Post a screen shot of the basic settings page in the netgear. Make sure DMZ is off in the netgear.
Also post a screen shot of the DMZ page in the modem

Here they are, also in my private server in the client java file it says "server =" which is where I am supposed to put the IP so players can get on. Is it the one I added to the Comcast DMZ or is it the canyouseeme.org IP?

Ok so far everything looks good. Need one more page.
Post a screen shot of the port forwarding page in the netgear.

Also make sure DMZ is off in the netgear

And if your hosting a minecraft server the server= should be blank
