Need help with minecraft sever
« on: July 13, 2011, 04:46:11 PM »
Hi, I have read up on other posts and help tabs but they still aren't helping. I have been following

http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/554-how-to-port-forward-your-minecraft-server-with-pictures/#p5841

and it really helped but I caught a snag. When I was using the port forwarding program the tab to add a exception to windows firewall is blanked out and not usable. Then to solve this i looked at this post and did what he did

http://forums.pcwintech.com/index.php/topic,2107.0.html

I manually added 2 rules to let my port through both tcp and udp and then used the other program to check but it still isn't working.

 Please give me a hand.

The Windows firewall tool in the program is a pro feature. But isn't always needed.

First thing to do is check to make sure everything is setup right.

So I want you to post 2 screen shots for me.
1. A screen shot of the main window of my simple port forwarding program.
2. A screen shot of the port forwarding page in your router.

This will let me see if the rules are correct

Lets go from there.

Ok the port forwarding rule looks fine

Did you check that DMZ was turned off?

Also go to the status page in the linksys. There you will see the Internet IP. Does the IP match as the one on this page?

OK lets test something real quick. I have noticed a bug in a lot of the linksys router lately with port forwarding. This test will confirm if you have that bug or not.

Go to the DMZ page. Enable it, and for the IP have the .103 (Your computers local IP)
Save the page.

Now run my port tester again. What is the results?
