You can download TCPView (or run it directly from the site) from Sysinternals to see real time connections. This will show every connection on your end. It can show you the programs, the IP addresses, resolved names, and ports of each connection and shows when a new one opens or one closes via green and red highlighting. It might not give you all the answers you are looking for but it will definitely give you a better picture. If you see a program attempt to make a connection but then close itself then you can check in your firewall to see if the specific program is being blocked.

We are here to help you out. Give that program a try and let me know if it is what you are looking for. If it is, then I will go ahead and lock this.

Perhaps it is your firewall. You said you turned your firewall off and it would work. Which by the ray your router is a hardware based firewall. So turning off your software firewall wont hurt while you game

Is this the windows firewall you turned off or a different one?
