Minecraft server winxp linksys wrt110
« on: June 27, 2011, 02:02:33 AM »
Hi and thanks for the other topics... they have been a big help sofar :cheesy:

My  problem is that i have set up a minecraft server on a windows xp home box and all the people on my home network can connect to it, but none of the others i would like to allow to connect to it are able to. i have signed up with dyndns.org and entered that info into my router and tried to get others into my server but i am not sure if i have all  the settings correct with the port forarding and if i am giving out the right ip addy.

will attach picks of my router setup screens and my ipconfig to see if i am just missing something or if i completely blew it

Thanks for the help

Failed on TCP but pass on UDP normally means your firewall software on your computer is blocking it.

What Antivirus or firewall do you have installed?

Do me a favor and setup another port forwarding rule. Can be to any port, say 1979 for both TCP & UDP

Then test that port with the tester and let me know how it goes

1 am for me, so heading to bed in a few.
Post a screen shot of the port forwarding page in the router.

Also, in the linksys go to the status page. There you will see the internet IP.
Does it match the IP that shows up on this page?

I am off to bed :-)

I don't see the 1979 rule.

But on the port forwarding rule you have, you don't want it on both single and port range pages. So remove the one on the port range page. Then try the port tester again

I will be back in the morning.

Night!

The goal now is to find out if the problem is the router or something on your system.

DO you have another system there we can test with?
