Did you do the whole address?

http://192.168.0.199
or
http://192.168.0.199:8080

Anyway you can get me a screen shot of the dvr network settings screen. Seeing that will help me see whats going on

I can no longer get into the DVR to give you the network settings, neither IP address works that you gave me.

I am heading out today to take my wife and kids camping for the weekend. Its going to be my birthday :cheesy: (I will be home Sunday and can answer back then)

Here is what needs to be done.

The DVR will need to be reset. There should be a button on the back.
Your ISP might be blocking port 80.

So call Lorex support and tell them to walk you through the following steps.

1. Reset the dvr back to defaults.
2. In the DVR, change the http port it uses form 80 to 8080
3. Set a static IP on the DVR (This is so the local IP doesn't change on it, thus breaking the port forwarding rule)

After that is done verify you can log into the DVR with :8080

Once you have the dvr network screen up and changed, get me that screen shot so I can verify the settings

I hooked up a monitor and a mouse to the DVR  - Current DVR settings
ip - 192,168,1,100
gateway 192,168,1,1
dhcp enabled 0
http port 8080
qt port 8090

Where do I set the ip for static in the LAN, I see that when I booted up the LAN ip was ......198, instead of .....199.

I think I found the static ip place.  The IP number has at the end of the line the words, REVOKE, RESERVE, and they are boxed, indicating a button.  Just above the place where all the IP setting are is another category, DHCP Reserve List.  I can change the number in the DCHP allocated list ...............198 to ..............199 and click the RESERVE button this may move it to the DHCP Reserve List.  But is the Reserve List the same as Static IP or do I need to do something else.

You should be able to change the IP info on that same page. Try it and let me know

DVR now reads
IP 192.168.0.199
GATEWAY 192.168.1.1
DHCP ENABLE X  -  I changed from O to X.
http port 8080
qt port 8090

and the LAN is now.
DHCP Reservations List
IP 192.168.0.199   I think this is static because on the description has changed to NEVER (change)

I have a LinkSys (DLINK).  LAN.

I can now get in on port 8080, but the Quick Time is not working.  Why doesn't tegcanada.lorexddns.net link not working in the DVR all the domain name etc are correct?

OK good, now that you can login to the dvr locally lets find out why I still cant connect to you remotely.

At this point you have done everything correctly and done a good job. Something is still getting in the way. I save connecting to people as a last resort but I think we are there.

Send me an email and I will get on msn or yahoo chat with you. Time for me to take a look and get it working

OK all fixed and working :cheesy:

2 things where keeping it from working.

1. He had the wrong gateway IP in the DVR.
2. Found a bug in his router. When the port forwarding rule was down the page and there where blank rules above it the rule didnt work. Once I moved the rule to the top it started working.

Since your all fixed I will lock this thread

And as always...
If your happy with my work. Then all I ask in return is you simply let others know about my site and programs. I help with anything computer or network related :-)
Also always feel free to make a post in the feedback forum.
And a facebook like at the top of the page of my site is nice as well. ;)
