Trying to get the auto port forwarding working
« on: June 15, 2011, 12:40:54 PM »

Initially When I was asked which system I had I responded with LH310 but I actually have a LH314 edge series.  No such number LH314 seems to exist.  I have the following numbers;
DLINK - DIR655 ROUTER
ROUTER IP IS 192.168.0.1
HTTP TYPE IS 'http://"
HTTP PORT is 80
Lorex Product Info
IP # is 192.168.0.89
Port is 80
After "installing"  and I wish to view from the internet I type in my URL and all I get is a bunch of webpage script, the
everything stops.  - On some tries I also got a "You have received a NOT FOUND error from the webpage.
Can anyone help?

Mike

Can you post a screen shot showing what is happening? That will help me see what is going on

Ah, looks like everything worked fine.

Lorex requires you use Internet Explorer to view it, so you Can't use chrome.

Open IE and give it a try

when I type in tegcanada.lorexddns.net.  I get a bunch of scrip and not the web site to log in to my security system.  I removed Chrome and running just Internet Explorer.

I just tried connecting to you and it isn't working. DO you have the dvr on and running?

If you do, Some ISP's do block port 80 and we may need to change the port the dvr is using from 80 to 8080

I changed the port from 80 to 8080 and am not able to get in at all.  There seems to be no difference.

Did you change the port 8080 in both the DVR and the port forwarding rule?

I just discovered that my Lorex DVR IP number doesn't work I tried 192.168.0.89 and 192.168.1.89.  I received a device sumary from Lorex saying what the default IP address was, but it doesn't work.  Now I'm really confused.  My lan IP address is okay and calls up the Lan settings, port forwarding etc.  but nothing from the DVR.  It is on by the way.  I will reset it by the time you get this email.

OK first thing we need to do is go to the port forwarding page in the router and remove any old port forwarding rules for the DVR.

Then we need to find out what IP the DVR has. We can do this in the router as well. In the router you can see attched devices, and we should see the DVR and it's IP in there

If you have a monitor hooked to the DVR you should be able to get its IP from it by viewing its current network info.

Once we have the IP we need to setup the port forwarding rule for it.

In my LAN I checked the port forwarding names and found that Lorex had an IP number of 192.168.0.199 and a port of 8080 - I looked at attached devices and see a device with the about IP number.  Should I remove the above IP number?

OK, one more thing to check. When you first log in to the Belkin, there is a status page and shows your WAN IP. Does that IP match the IP on this page?
