Check the IP of the xbox again. Did it change? then go update the port forwarding rules with the new IP

Once done try the xbox and see.

On that same page, for default server, put the xbox IP and see how it does.

I help with so many people & routers I can't remember, but there was a user who setup his xbox to use pppoe and that got him working. Not sure if that would work here or not.

I have a Strict stick with a nail through it I wouldn't mind taking to your router lol

At this point I think the problem is either the xbox or the router.
You have all rules setup properly, everything setup right.

Try disabling UPnP and see if it helps. After that unplug the power to the router and wait 30 sec then plug it back in. Lets see if a reboot is needed for the new settings to hold.

Going to bed in a few, so try that and lets see how it goes

At this point not a lot left to do.
You could setup the router ot be a pure modem only, and have the xbox use pppoe. but then only the xbox would be online.

Since the router is pretty old, it wouldn't hurt to have your ISP replace the dang thing

Again, you have done everything right. You should be working. The problem is either the xbox or router.

Easy test for that, take the xbox to a friends house and see how it does.

Understood. Thank you Shane. I should contact my ISP and say what exactly? Thank you for all your help and time. Sorry you weren't able to learn of a new problem so you could fix it :(

If it is a bad router there is nothing to fix but replace it :-)

Call your ISP. Say you had your tech confirm that your xbox wont work with it properly because of the limitations of it and since it is a older model you would like a new updated modem.

Or take a hammer to it and call them and tell them it stopped working lol

I tend to get a little silly when I get real tired. Been a long freaking day and my eyes burn. Time for me to hit the bed. Got a nice long day tomorrow as well! At least I get to have my cigar tomorrow

This thread will auto lock after 30 days of no posts. So it will be open till then, let me know how it goes with the ISP and if you get a new modem.

And as always...
If your happy with my work. Then all I ask in return is you simply let others know about my site and programs. I help with anything computer or network related :-)
Also always feel free to make a post in the feedback forum.
And a facebook like at the top of the page of my site is nice as well. ;)

I'm off to bed!
Night

Hey, I just got in myself.

That is actually probably the right answer. I've heard the head of Xbox Live say that older routers can't handle the NAT stuff correctly so no matter what you do, you'll never get an Open NAT with some older routers.

The trick is to buy one that says that it is "certified to work with Vista or 7" because the testing done includes what Xbox Live needs and then a little more so those routers can always work. Just because you have a router and you can set up port forwarding rules doesn't guarantee that you'll get the type of NAT you need. It's frustrating, but that's just how it is.

So get yourself an updated router and unless your ISP is blocking something, you should be able to connect with no problems.
