No. When I do this, I can get no connection. To go online again I have to unassign ports

Looks like a bug in the thomson.
Instead of fighting it, lets try something else.

Turn off the port forwarding rules in the thomson.
Then in the thomson make sure UPnP is enabled.

Then I want you to connect the PS3 to the thomson instead and have it get online.

See how things go from there.

Ok, just tried it.

UPnP is enabled but when I connect it to the ps3 and test the connection it says that UPnP is disabled and NAT 3 again.

Make sure your PS3 shows up int he device list in the thomson.
Seems like the thomson is the cause of all this trouble so far

How can I check it if I connected the modem directly to the ps3 with an ethernet cable?

when I connect it via wifi it appears in the netgear device list...

If it is by wifi it might be connecting to the netgear. So turn off the wifi in the PS3 and use a cable to connect to the thomson. Make sure to reboot the PS3 after so it updates its network settings.

Leave it connected to the thomson. Go to the firewall settings page and post it. Something in the thomson is still blocking it. (Pain in the butt router lol)

I have a feeling the intrusion detection might be whats causing the problem.

Let me do some research on it real fast

Can you disable the intrusion detection? Looks like it might be the cause of the trouble

Now try the PS3 connected to it.

Can you also go to the device list in the thomson and make sure the PS3 is showing up?
