Port Forwarding and PS3
« on: May 24, 2011, 01:58:10 PM »
After getting time after time the NAT 3 message on PS3 I finally decided to do a port forwading expecting that it solves this problem.

Tried every tutorial, youtube video... UPnP is enabled, tried DMZ, Open NAT... Nothing worked!

Even plug the modem directly to the console gave me a NAT 3 error.

What should I do?

Are you on DSL or cable?
If DSL your modem is a router as well, that could be where the block is coming from.

This will help :-)

Log into your netgear. Find its WAN IP, that is the Ip that should go into the DMZ in the thomson.

192.168.1.64

You shouldnt lose your internet connection. DMZ is just a open all ports rule.
If your losing your connection it could be a bug in the thomson, not the first one I have seen.

If so we can do another way.
Do 2 port forwarding rules in the thomson
from ports 1000 - 65534 TCP & UDP and have both rules point to 192.168.1.64

Will it be lost when I restart the modem?

Because when I lost the connection a minute ago, I've restart thomson and now the IP is 192.168.1.1...

When you do it, unplug the power to the modem and to the netgear, wait for the modem to come up then plug in the netgear
