Need Help BADLY With PortForwarding
« on: May 16, 2011, 12:24:01 PM »
I have been trying to port forward for minecraft off and on now for about a week. Iv watched counltess amounts of videos and looked through numerous amounts of guides on google.com and minecraft forums. Finally I found this simple port forward program and am having trouble with it even. If you tell me how to post a pic on here I will but for now i'll leave a discription of whats going on..

Iv added all the necessary information (router type, router ip, username/pass, http type, http port) (iv also added the app name, forwarded to, start port, end port, TCP/UDP, and description)
Now when I run the "Update Router" it asks for user name and pass, i put them both in and click ok.
It does "Step 01. nav" smoothly no probs
Step 02. nav("smap.htm") = fails miserably everytime and tell me "You have recieved a NOT FOUND error from the webpage" giving me 3 steps to fix it but I can't manage to fix it.

Can I please get some help >.<

**i have teamviewer and am willing to use it*

It sounds like you either have the wrong router selected in the program or the script is wrong and needs to be updated. You can take a screen shot by pressing the "Print Screen" button on your keyboard (in the upper right hand corner) and then open up MS Paint or a similar program and then paste the picture in. Then all you need to do is save the picture and upload it to the forum using the "Attachments and other options" below where you type a response. Get us a pic of the error and the main page of your router so we can verify the problem and we can go from there.

Heres the pic of the problem and did you want me to put a pic up of the program where it wants me to verify my router and ip and username and all the info?

Can you look on the status page and look for a virware version? The program has several different firmware's available so you might try each of those and see if they work. I'd start with version 5 first since it has a different name for the page the program is looking for.

So do this. Post a screenshot of the status page and also try the different firmware version in simple port forwarding. If one of them works then let me know which one it was.

The first two pics you posted have a tab on the top of the page called status. Click on that and you should get all the model info about your router.

Yes. that is the correct page. If you look at the top of that page you are using the version 1.1 firmware. You should go to D-Link's website and download the newest version of the firmware and then update the router and you should be able to use the program to select a newer firmware.

You could also upload all the information for your router to the website and Shane could get the firmware added. http://www.pcwintech.com/router-screen-capture

Either way you'll need to download something.

Your trying to port forward to the router, that's why its not working, you have the ip of the router in the rule.
Look in the upper right of my program, it shows your current local IP. That is the IP that should be in the rule

You need to update the rule in the router now.
Click view/remove ports. When the page is done loading change the IP in the rule and click save settings on the page. Then try the port tester
