DYNAMODE R-ADSL-C4WG2 PORT FORWARDING
« on: April 09, 2011, 03:20:42 AM »
Please can someone help me i am going round in circles trying to do this. I am trying to set up an ip camera to view over the internet. I can set it up fine with my netgear router but cannot seem to get it to work on the Dynamode R-ADSL-C4WG2. I have entered the ddns details and this seems to be working fine and i have gone into Advanced settings, NAT then virtual server and entered the ip of the camera and start and end port 81 which is set in the camera settings. I can view the camera fine from my computer but not over the internet so the port forwarding cannot be set up correctly but cannot for the life of me see anything online to help me with this. I know on the netgear one i had to set up a custom service and then add a firewall rule for the ip address. What am i missing or doing wrong with the dynamode as i really need it to work with this router, please please can anyone help its driving me insane!!!

Your most likely not doing anything wrong.
Most routers do not like reverse nat. Trying to connect to your self with your internet IP.
When on the same network as your camera you use the local IP. When out side the network you use the internet IP.

PM me your internet IP and I will see if I can connect to you for ya

Just to make sure. You aren't still using the Netgear are you? If you are then you are using two routers and that could be your problem.

Have you checked using the PcWinTech Port Tester to see if the port is open?
