port mapping Huawei HG532b router to access dvr
« on: April 04, 2011, 12:54:29 PM »
Please help... am trying to connect SAMSUNG SRD-470 DVR through  Huawei HG532b router. But i dont knw what all information to provide under the port mapping tab and port triggering tab..

The port details of the DVR are,

TCP 554-557
UDP 8000-8159

my confusion is how to put these values under the port mapping tab and do i need to set up anything else ?

not at all familiar with these...

HELP PLEASE!!!..... THANK YOU....

Before I can give specifics on what to do I need to make sure I am looking at the correct screens. Can you do me a favor and check to see if these screen match your router?

This is the STC Firmware, just to let you know.

You need the local ip address of the dvr for the port forwarding rule.

The rules go here
http://www.pcwintech.com/files/screenshots/huawei-echolife_hg532b_stc_firmware/013.png

Create the rules there and leave the remote host blank

Have trouble just let me know.

 thanks 4 d reply guys..!!

And should i set the external port as 557(TCP), 8159(UDP) and internal port as 554(TCP), 8000(UDP)?

Also i can see two IP address in dvr. the addresses looks like 192.168.x.x and 168.x.x.x (DNS)

which one should i put in the remote host option under port mapping tab? OR do i need to change the ip address to something outside the DHCP range in the router and use that to create the rule?

    ...........help!!!!!!!!!!!

thank you!

God bless you...

The DVR ip you will use will be the 192.168 one and will go under the local ip option. Remote IP stays blank.

And yes for the ports they will be the same in both internal and external

Hi, I hope you don't mind me joining in on this thread as I've tried loads of different things, been going crazy for the 2nd day now and still havent succeeded

This thread is the closest I have found to what I'm trying to achieve.

from all the reading....this is what I think I hav figured out.

I have a adata dvr which is factory set to tcp 37777 and ip 192.168.1.108

I have the HG532 router, which following your steps, when I now go to check port on this site it says "37777 is online and can be reached"  which is the closest I have ever got to getting somewhere  :cheesy:

now the question I have is how do I access this from another computer (lets say a from a friend house) and is there a way of me checking this from here....  I'm still a bit confused with the static/dynamic ip thing, I know one is fixed and one isnt and that I have dynamic.  I signed up to that dyndns.org just from something I read but not sure if that is set right.

Any help would be MUCH apreciated before I lose the plot..  Thx

You have a internet IP and a local IP.

When home and on the same network as the dvr you connect this way http://192.168.1.108:37777
When at a friends house you use your internet IP address http://99.99.99.99:37777

Before you leave to your friends house go to my ip page and grab your homes internet Ip before you leave

Thank you for a fast reply.

When I enter 192.168.1.108 into my browser, it works
when I  enter 192.168.1.108:37777 into my browser it doesn't,  Yet 37777 port comes up ok on the check  :cheesy:

I havent tried going to my friends yet...but I had a thought, how often does my internet ip change? (as it was different this morning to now) would it change by the time I get to my friends?  is there a way around using different internet ips for what I am trying to do or do I have to request a static from my isp?

Thanks in advance

This will take care of the changing internet ip
http://www.dyndns.com/services/dns/dyndns/

if 192.168.1.108 works without the 37777 then the dvr is using port 80 and not 37777.

When you do the port test are you using the port tester program or the webpage on my site?

and when  I was understanding this...I got it wrong...p@nts..

I used the "test my port forwarding" on your site which is under the "whats my ip"  When I put in the 37777 it works, when I enter 80, its just blank with no tick.

does this mean I have set the port forward wrong?

Also while on the subject of dyndns, I entered my ip this morning, which has now changed...have I missed out an option?

Thanks again

Read there site to setup the dns options.

On your port forwarding rule just edit the rule to the IP of the dvr and not your computer. And dont bother with the port tester as that is for when you port forward to your computer

 ..hi all...

just to let u guys know.. these are wat i did until now..

put the 192.168 address in the internal host, left the remote host as u said, UDP 8000 for bith internal and external port, TCP 554 as internal and external port.

i guess i dont have anything to change in the DVR as i can see it in LAN.. right??

And i got another confusion here... how do i test it in WAN?.. is it like "http://dvr local ip/tcp port no." or "http://router ip/tcp port no." (tcp port no. i mean 554 here)

please help..

Also, in the dvr manual, it is written that i need to give the dvr an ip address which is outside the DHCP range of the router. do i need to do that?

It also says to set the start address (192.168.0.100) and end address (192.168.0.200) in the router. I tried to set so but it shows invalid entry.

(192.168.1.X is the default ip of DVR so obviously it will be out of range if am able to set the range)

i am lost..........

someone please help!!!!!!!!!

Thank you
