Unable to edit script
« on: March 27, 2011, 09:50:08 AM »
Im using Simple Port Forwarding 3.1.4 to update my Cicso EPC3925 EuroDocsis 3.0.
The update fails because the script tries to go to AppGaming.htm which does not exists. The correct extension is 'asp' instead of 'htm'.
I've tried editing the script but somehow it doesn't store the modified script (of course I did hit the 'Update script' button).
Can anyone help?

It should be storing it, but I know why the script has the htm.

I made the script from
http://www.pcwintech.com/screenshots-cisco-epc3925-cisco-firmware

And I didn't label it BigPond firmware in the program, which I will fix now and have it labeled correctly.

Do you have BigPond? if so they may have updated their firmware and changed the name of the page.
Let me know and I can get the script updated on my end if needed

Hello Shane,

It was no problem saving an edited script with a previous version of SPF but with version 3.1.4 it is.
I' not using BigPond so I would appreciate it if you could edit the script for me.

Thanx,
AndreK

I just wanted to let you know that Shane is going to be gone for the rest of the day but I know he'll get both the script and the ability to save the script fixed.

Yeah had my wisdom tooth pulled today. Just now back on my feet :-)

I am wondering if I should add a new entry for your version of the firmware, or if bigpond auto updates the firmware on every one with that model if just updating the script will do.

I'm not familiar with BigPond so I can't answer that one for you.
If I would be able to save an edited script I would probably be on my way. But I don't know if that will do for other users also.

It only edits you for yours. I will look into why it isn't saving. I have seen it before myself, closing it and reopening seems to make it work.

I will go ahead and just update the current script.
Since you have changed it before, is the page name from html to asp the only change needed?

Ok I updated the script.
Update the database and give it a go.

I am also redoing the edit script code and will put v3.1.5 in a day or so

Hi Shane,

I'm aware that eidting the script only works for myself. Closing and re-opening the script doesn't bring anything.
The script that came with a previous version of SPF had a similar problem, however with that version (I can't recall which) I was able to save it and make it work.
With the previous version not only the extension was wrong but the entire URL.
I think that at that time (it was some time ago) changing the URL was all there was to it.
However since my modem had a problem they swapped it for a new (similar model) one. So I had to redo the port forwarding.

New version is out, see if the editing works better for you. And let me know if the script still needs any more changes

Hello Shane,

With the new version I was able to edit and save the script.
It now goes to the correct page but responds with several 'failed - object not found' messages.
I'm not too familiar with what you're doing in the script so I'm not able to modify it.
One obvious (seems to me at least) problem at the end is the command 'click_button_last_only("save")'.
The button is called 'save settings'. But that's only the final step and I don't know if that's relevant.
I've attached the script output and a screen dump.

I hope you're able to help me with this.

I just realized you have a different model.

If you look at the screen shot page
http://www.pcwintech.com/screenshots-cisco-epc3925-cisco-firmware

You will see it is v3.0 like yours, but yours says 2 port gateway where the one I have doesn't.
So looks like I should just add yours as a new entry :-)

Let me paste what i give users who want me to add a router, get those screens to me and I can get it added pretty fast

I will also change the current script back.

Quote
I can get it added for ya :-)
Download my router screen capture program http://www.pcwintech.com/router-screen-capture

Use it to view every page in the router, I need them all. Then once you get those to me I can get your router added, screen shot page, and the guides written :-)
