Ooo, now I diagnosed what's wrong with my comp and it says the DNS server wasn't detected... and while I was typing this now its working... god this is so gay.

Update the rules in the linksys and then try my simple port tester.

wowowowow ok so I disabled the DMZ on the cisco... took all the rules off of the vonage and switched the ip for all the rules for forwarding to 124.... and it works!!! thanks man um

I have a question, this means I have a dynamic IP and I'll have to check with your program everytime I restart my internet right?

If your local IP changes you will just need to update the port forwarding rules with the new IP just like you did. :wink:

I just wanted to add that you shouldn't have to worry about getting a different IP address from your router even if you have it set to Dynamic because the router will remember your MAC address of your computer and unless you've added another device that took your computer's IP address while your computer was turned off then yours will still be reserved.  :smiley:

If it does happen to change then just update like Shane says.

Like Shane said, never give up. The networking stuff can get confused and have you running around in circles but it's almost always something simple, you just have to find it (or let us help you find it).  :wink:
