Hello.

When I try to forward my ports with SPF, it runs though page of my router, sets up the ports, but when it clicks "Update selected servers" (basically, it's just "save" button), my router throws a message "Data cannot be saved. Port is unavailable. Please try again later.".

Anyone has any idea how to make it work? I can't make lobbys when because this port is closed.

By the way, it's 27000-27030, that's needed for Steam Client matchmaking.

Thanks a lot,
Andrew J.

Are any of those ports already in another rule? You cant forward the same ports twice.

Go ahead and post a screen shot of the port forwarding page in the router.

I am heading out to go fix a customers computer, I will be back in a bit

Holy cow, you are FAST!

Anyway, you were right. I already tried adding it before and it, obviously, can't add it twice. But I've still got a problem. Even though ports are open on router page (screenshot #1), they act as closed. When I check them with http://www.canyouseeme.org/, it says they refuse connection (screenshot #2). What is weird (probably, I am totally newbie in this kind of business), when I close "Web" (port 80) (it's default preset on my router page), it still says it's open when I try to connect with http://www.canyouseeme.org/.

And thanks a lot for patience.

By the way, I am using DNS server.

OK first you don't want to use canyouseeme.org. For one reason, it only sends the connection attempt. Something has to be listening on your system on that port. If nothing is then the port test will fail no matter what.

Run step 7 in the simple port forwarding program or download my simple port tester.

It will open the port and listen on it for a connection attempt thus giving a good test result.

Let me know what it says.

Okay. When I try to test 27016 with Simple Port Forwarding (most important of these ports, and it should be open, since I set 27000~27030), it says "27016 is offline and can not be reached".

When I do same thing with Simple Port Tester, it says same thing (it's apparently same program cut to only have SPF's testing feature, so it's not a big surprise).

80, for example, always says "is online and can be reached", whether it's turned on (Screen #1) or off (#2). And I didn't forget to click "Update selected server" button, by the way. I am really lost. Looks like any change I make to router settings doesn't really do anything.

Any other ideas?

I need to confirm your local IP, post a picture of the main window of the SPF program, your local IP is in the corner.

You can attach it to this post if you want, when posting at the bottom you will see "Attachments and other options"

OK bud, that is because it looks like you are behind 2 routers.

The port 80 passes because it is hitting your modem page. I just tried it. We should remove an pictures showing your internet ip to be safe.

Now log into your airlive, find the WAN or Internet IP address. It shouldn't match the IP on the port tester page if you are behind a 2nd router. Get the gateway IP, that's the IP of the first router (Your modem)

Your modem is also a router and that's why your having trouble.

This should take care of you

I see. Thanks a lot, I'll have a look at it tomorrow, I really need to get some sleep now. It would be great if you can let this thread unlocked, I think I'll spam you with some more questions later

This or that, thank you for helping me out for nothing. I really appreciate it. And thanks for deleting those pictures for me

Last note - you were, of course, right. I have second router, but there is a problem. A) It's router from Mikrotik, which is apparently not supported by SPF. B) I have no idea what the login is. I managed to get onto login page with IP from SPF (the one that shows when I try to test my ports), but can't get any further. I find out that default login is "admin" and "*blank*", but it was probably changed when technics set it up.

So, I have some questions: How to find out EXACT model of my router? Just looking at the box, there is nothing said on it. It's locked in black metal cage and doesn't look like my WL-1600GL at all. No lights, no buttons, nothing. Is there any way to find it?

And last resort thing - if I don't manage to find out what the password is, and decide to go with hard reset, how much setting are there to be set? Because I don't understand this at all, and if it's harder than clicking "autoconfigure" button, I doubt I'll make it!

Thanks a lot, good night!

You will need to call your ISP to find out how to get logged in. If they wont let you ask them if they can put it into bridge mode. This would pass the internet IP to your router instead and get the modem out of the way

Don't do a hard reset on it, if it is DSL it has your log info for the DSL, and a hard reset will lose that info and you'll be off the net.

Call your ISP and go from there

Okay, so I got login details from my ISP today. I'll have a look into that modem settings and will most likely throw hundred of question onto our head :)

EDIT: Okay, let's get it started. So, there is a program called WinBox that's terminal for my router. When I log into it, there are so many things it makes my eyes bleed and heart stop.

Do you have any idea which one I should try? I can't find that "DMZ", so I'd just set ports on both routers, that's not such a big deal. Thing is, how to open ports on this?

EDIT2: I also found this, could it be it? Thanks!
