Your PS3 supports UPnP, which is a auto port forwarding. If you enable UPnP in the router the PS3 will be able to open the ports it needs by itself

The UPnP option is on the same page as the port forwarding rules. You will see a check mark for it.
If there is no check box for it, on the same page you click configure in the upper right

Security should be off

Once you have that set try this. Unplug the power tomthe router and to the ps3.
Wait about 10 sec. And plug the router back in. Wait till you are back online.

Then plug the ps3 back in. Turn it on and give it a few min to get it self set up.

The try to play your game. The game will open the ports through upnp when you play.

See how that goes. If it still fails then we need to looknat some other things.

Ok I just done like you said then rebooted everything back on then it said strict again.

I played one game with Strict Nat type and then came back out to the lobby and it still said strict.

Also, my UPnP is enabled and the security disabled.

What now?

Thanks,

Now let's start checking some other things

First. In the router, find the wan or Internet ip address. Does it match the ip on my port tester page?

Next, how is your ps3 connected? Basically I just want to make sure we dont have a 2nd router in the way

What we should do as well is setup a test port forwarding rule that points to your computer. Then use my port tester. This way we can make sure the port forwarding is working in the router.

Almost 11pm for me so heading to bed in a bit. Let's see if we can get you going before I head to bed

** It doesnt match on the port tester page

**There is only one router and the PS3 is connected via wi fi

**I forwarded the ports to my Laptop instead of the PS3 and it said Successful on the port test.

Your Internet ip should have matched since the port forwarding worked to your laptop. But that's fine

Ok do this. Log into your router and remove all your port forwarding rules.

Now log into your ps3 and confirm it's local ip address.

Now create a new port forwarding rule for ports 1000 to 65000 for tcp and udp. When you asign the rule to the ps3 name in the computer name list, make sure it isn't listed more than once.

You can also go to the device list in the router and confirm the device name for the ps3 is showing the ip your ps3 is showing

Heading to bed in 10 min. So let know soon.

The thomson routers do have a known bug with UDP and it likes to block all UDP ports.
Don't know if they ever got that fixed, or if that is even the problem here.

So go to the device list in the router, can you post a screen shot?

Also is your PS3 set to auto get a IP or static?

please see attachment>>

I've set the PS3 to auto, via wireless and set the PS3 in the router to static ip.

the picture shows PS3 0.0.0.0 because its not on... but it still says the same ip when its on.
