Your WAN and Internet IP are both the same thing. You don't use that. People outside your network do. Like if I was to join you would give me your internet IP.

For you have ever, since your on the network, you use the local ip to connect :wink:

so its normal that my connection is getting timed out when i try to connect with my own wan or internet ip?
alright then ill have to get another cod4 player to try and connect and see if it works for him, all this time ive been failing to connect so i thought it would be the same for everyone else..

Correct  :wink:

The reason you can't connect to your self by your WAN ip is because your router doesn't like reverse nat (Where you connect to your self with your internet IP)
http://www.pcwintech.com/test-for-reverse-nat

So find someone to try and connect to you :wink:

thanks for link, i will try out what you said and get somebody else to attempt to join my server, i will reply with success/failure and what happened

update: when i joined my server it said "Listen Server", this hasn't happened before, i reconnected and listen server went away and now it shows my internal serer ip. can you please tell me what a listen server is?
