Simple port forwarding (Mac OS X)
« on: February 03, 2011, 05:50:39 AM »
Hi shane! I tried to ask in the same topic about the suggestion on creating the simple port forwarding for mac OSX.

"Right now I don't have a mac version... yet.

Simple port forwarding has over 44,000 lines of code. So I have to re write all that for the MAC.
I am planning on doing it, but it will be a while before I am able to get any thing out. The biggest part is the scripting I wrote to work with the pages. I can make those in MAC as well, its just a lot of code to cover

Shane"

So, I am creating this topic =)

Do you have an idea? When? Would you like to do?

Do you have msn? I could help you if you help me! I could do that, I use mac as you know! Which program do you use to program?

Thanks again Shane,
Mateus

In order to write Simple Port Forwarding for the MAC it would have to be done in Xcode. Which is what the port tester is done in.

Right now SPF is done in VB and uses IE to work with the pages. I am not sure how well the safari code will work in xcode. Plus I have been programming in VB for over 12 years and xcode for only 1.

The entire program would have to be written from scratch. And that would require a lot of my time. Right now I am super behind on the guides for the site. So my efforts are going to that currently.

The real challenge will be getting it so the same scripting code in the program works. I don't want to have to write 2 different scripts. I want to be able to write one and have it work in both programs.

Simple Port forwarding is up to 55,000 lines of code and has been growing for the past 2 years.

Yeah I used Xcode 3.25 to make the port tester.

Thats nice of you to offer to help, but I really don't want to give out my code to the scripting lol.

Once I have the site caught up on guides I will see what I can do about a mac version

I am still new to Xcode so I don't know. I have only made a few apps in it.

As long as you enjoy it you will be fine

I am no where near good enough to teach. Plus I haven't touched xcode in 6 months LOL

Look for Lynda.com iPhone SDK Essential Training DVD

This was the first thing I used and was freaking great
