AMD not connecting

Ha, for once I saw it without being told (although you did mention early on that there was something that needed to be checked). Usually I double click on the Trendnet thing and it connects. This time I did a single click and it brought down a little window that said of all things "connect automatically" (plus connect). So I checked it and connected and checked the workgroup to see if that change helped. Then did yet another restart and lo it came to pass that I was automatically connected and the work group change worked just fine so I am once again a happy camper and in your and Evan's debt once more. Thank You both.

I haven't made the workgroup change on the Toshiba yet but I will later today - should work just fine. Time to close this puppy out and start bringing in the New Year.
