AMD not connecting to Trendnet

Finally got my big system back yesterday. Fired it up and couldn't get to my net or Internet. Waited til this morning to power down the Trendnet and then brought up the AMD -- still not connecting. On the AMD it has an icon that says "not connected - connections are available". I'm sure this is something simple since this system used to be connected before it decided to die.

Glad to hear you have it back.  I must have missed that one.  Anyways give Shanes "repair network" tool a quick shot (http://www.pcwintech.com/files/shanes_toolbox/Repair_Network.zip).  Let me know if that helps.

Finally rearranged some cables and got the "repair network" software over to AMD. Ran it. Did power down on AMD and power up -- no help - still says connections are available but not connected.

Are you trying to connect via a wired or wireless connection?  If wireless are you able to see the connection you want? If you can what happens (messages) when you try to connect?

It's a Belkin USB wireless -- should connect through the Trendnet to the rest of my net and the Internet. All I see is an icon on the Task? Bar that says "Not connected - Connections are available". Making some progress just now -- I went to the control panel and clicked on connect to Internet. Got a screen that wanted to know wireless or hardwired -- selected wireless -- got a screen that showed the Trendnet and not connected -- double clicked and it asked if I wanted to connect anyway and I of course said yes -- Ta Dah it connected to the Internet. Still didn't see the other PCs in the net.  Brought up "Mac" and it had a line for Network but PCs not there -- double clicked on that and got another display that showed other PCs.

So it's all connected and I am a happy camper -- thanks for your help. Time to close this one. Have a great week-end. LOL Mine is looking a lot better than it did 10 hours ago.

Great to here you got it working.  You did a great job with the troubleshooting and working your way through the steps.
