Port Forwarding not working
« on: August 31, 2010, 03:31:42 PM »
Dear Shane,

It's been some time...

I'm having a problem to forward my port in uTorrent 2.2 Beta. I have upgraded the Simple Port Forwarding to v.2.0.8. My OS is Win7.
When I run Simple Port Forwarding it reports that the port (52xyz) is online and can be reached. But when I run the Setup Guide in uTorrent, the Network test is failed:
"Neither NAT-PMP nor UPnP is enabled. Please check your preferences."

In my Preferences > Connections : both are enabled (checked).

Please advise.

Make sure utorrent is still using that port and that it isnt set to use a random one.

Then make sure utorrent is allowed in your firewall.

If my port tester says the port is open, then it is open.
So if utorrent is still failing it is because it is using a different port or being blocked by a firewall

Thanks Shane,

The port is indeed open, since I am able to upload and download files using uTorrent. The strange thing is that some times the Setup Guide test shows that the port is OK, and some times it's fail.

I am not clear why is that.
