Cleanmem task scheduler error 0x800706fd
« on: May 05, 2010, 07:15:04 PM »
Hi there.

I have an XP SP3 laptop, and I have two user accounts, one used for my work which joins to a network Domain and other as my personal user account.

The way my computer is configured, as soon as windows XP starts, the logon screen appears asking to press ctrl+alt+del to start session, then my computer prompts for username, password and log on to (domain). When working with my work account, I choose my network domain on the third section, and when using my personal account (Which actually is the administrator account) y chose my computer name (local domain).

Ok, My problem is that it seems that sometimes cleanmem stops running, I check the task scheduler and says that the task could not be run. So If I right click the cleanmem task and left click under properties, the following error appears:

0x800706fd: The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain failed.
An error has occurred attempting to retrieve task account information. You may continue editing the task object, but will be unable to change task account information.

and then when the properties windows open I can not edit the "run as" and "password" parameters.

Any Idea of what is going on?
Thanks
Hector

I have setup a LOT of networks in the last 15 years (God that makes me sound old, I'm only 31 damn it lol)

And what is happening is a security problem with the OS and the domain.
Windows has to follow the rules of the domain first then follow the rules for itself.

So the fun part, finding out what the conflict is.

Also you say it sometimes stops running?

This may also help as well as a starting point.

Hi Shane, thanks for the immediate reply dude  :cheesy:.

I've just created from zero a new task for cleanmem, based with the configuration you use in the default installation (run every 30 minutes, 24 hours a day, and daily) with the only difference that I used my local administrator account and my local password (who never changed).

My work account has a policy of chaning passwords every 90 days, so I hope that by using my administrator account, Cleanmem runs wihtout any issue in both, my work and my personal account

Thanks again and regards !!!
Hector

Shane. I've used my work account, and noticed that Cleanmem is running as expected  :cheesy:
So by creating a new clean mem task using my local admin account (administrator), fixed that issue, and the task runs in both user accounts without any issue !!!

Thanks & Regards
Hector
