Portforwarding Gunz (something still block ports)
« on: May 02, 2010, 05:12:11 AM »
hey its me again,
im back on using thomson and trying to figure again what could be blocking ports

I got Thomson ST780WL
Running Windows 7 Ultimate
Got Kaspersky Internet Security Antivirus

I used Shanes tool to test the ports i portforwarded and its saying that they are both OPEN 7700&7800 TCP&UDP
But when i go to the game i still got NAT.. and pings are over 200 (that is bad and it needs to be like 0-60 and to NA 70-120)

There is DynDNS option but i dunno how to set it up xd, and i dunno if it even works

Shane can you please help me out :D

Thanks!

Are you on DSL? that's a bad ping for DSL.

Also on the port tester make sure to test just UDP and see what happens.

Ok then lets try something else. Instead of the port forwarding rules, lets do DMZ. Which is a open all ports rule.

Log into your router, find the DMZ page. for the IP put the IP of your computer, save it, and reboot the router.
Now any port you test should be open.

I want to do this to simply test if we need more ports open. If it doesn't work with all ports open then it is most likly Kaspersky  causing the trouble.
