Ah Ha. Thanks - still haven't run any of those neat tests but when I do I'll post my results.   

Well as you can see, I've got spaces but still no smiley.

Well Sir, you've done it. I ran some the tests and all appears to be well. Sooo, I've got the UBCD and it and my laptop test fine so I reckon it's time to close this item.
