sitecom DC202 v6 portforwarding problems Please help!
« on: April 05, 2010, 10:02:11 AM »
Hello there,

I'm new to portforward and I download the program simple port forwarding. I think it is a great program but it does't work with me.
I did every step in the help/setup for beginners or so to speak and when I test to see if the port can be forward it says that it fails and that the port is not open or responding.

Could you please help me out here Shane?

Sure can, The goal is to teach

First is to make sure you read and check each problem on this page
http://www.pcwintech.com/common-problems-fixes-port-forwarding

Also if you could post 2 screen shots for me, then I can see how things looks.

First post a screen shot of the main window of my program. This will let me see what your local IP is and what IP you have the rules pointing to.

The 2nd picture will be a picture of the port forwarding page in the router.
This will let me see if the rules where added correctly and pointing to your local IP from the first pic :-)

hit prtscn button on your keyboard.
Open Pain and then go to edit and paste.
Then go to file and save. Make sure to save it as a jpg :-)

Ok everything looks perfect. Rules are added right and pointing to the correct IP.
Though you don't need the same rule put in 3 times. Remove the other 2 :-)

So now it is time to go down the check list on the page of problems I gave you and try to find out why your not working.

Also in your router, find the WAN status page. Find the WAN/Internet IP address. Does it match the IP that shows up on the port tester page?

Your behind 2 routers bud

Log into http://192.168.2.1

Find the DMZ page. In the IP for DMZ put 192.168.2.2 and then enable it and hit save.
Now go test the port again :-)

OMg i did not know that i have 2 routers!!
It makes sense now though..  I use one in my room for the pc and my gaming platforms etc but the internet connection is coming from somewhere else in the house downstairs and that modem is also a router! I never knew that.

Ohw yeah i did what you asked and the test was succesfull!
Do I need to do something else before i use utorrent again or is it safe to go?

regards,

Citan85

Sounds like your good to go.

Test everything out and report back. Once you are good to go completely let me know and I will lock the thread :-)

So the 2 routers problem is Problem #1 on the page I gave you :-)
But I am curious why the program didn't tell you that you where behind 2 routers.
Under the tools menu is the detect multiple routers tool. What does it say?

Well I putted the port number in Utorrent and it works correct.
Says the port is open and it does the job.
I checked the tools program and i did a check.
It detects only 1 router.
kinda weird don't you think?

Good to hear

If your happy with my work. Then all I ask in return is you simply let others know about my site and programs. I do a lot more than port forwarding :-)
Also always feel free to make a post in the feedback forum.

Locking Thread.
