Would you still recommend using "Cleanmem" even if you have 3.50 Gb RAM or more in your PC?

I have 4gb and I use it. It doesn't hurt a thing using it. Even though I don't see the performance increase as I would say if I only had 1gb of memory I still keep all the processes cleaned up from memory leaks :-)

Having said that, what other benefits will my PC gain if I opt to install "Cleanmem"?

Hard to tell. I have it running on every PC I fix or use. Keeping apps from leaking memory and just keeping things cleaner always helps. But of course I am a performance nut ball to though so every little bit matters to me

Since my last post, I've applied "Cleanmem" and found it preety amazing for such a small tool. I've 4 games installed (25GB total size) & two of them crashes from time to time during gameplay and since then, the games played wonderfully smooth. Don't know how Cleanmen did what to my machine but what matters is, it works and it does a wonderful job. I hope to see other improvements in the days ahead & maybe post some good news. Anyway, thank you very much for "Cleanmen" and for being patiently accommodating. Again, thank you! "I recommend usage!"

Good to hear  :artist:

Before I lock this thread I wanted to ask your opinion.
I was thinking of adding a new feature to cleanmem. A user can tell cleanmem which process to log. In the log file it will have the date and time, the memory size before cleaning and after.

So like this

Name    Before    After    Time
firefox.exe    95000kb (95mb)  25000kb (25mb) 03-20-2010 11:00

So instead of logging all the processes which can make the log file grow fast, the user can simply tell cleanmem which ones to log. This way a user, if they like, can keep an eye on the memory usage of a program and how much it gets cleaned.

What are your thoughts?

Good idea! "Cleanmem" is small but precise. Most users, I guess, would want their applications easy to use, no complicated decision making or buttons to push. Just like "Cleanmem", install, apply and forget it.
The simplier, the better.

Yeah, that was the goal when I made it. The new feature would be there for the users who want it.
I may get on it soon then and get something out later in a week or 2.

"The new feature would be there for the users "who" want it", you say. Meaning, users are given the option to install this feature or not before installation? If this is where you're going, yeh, why not. Go, man! I think this is a good idea.

I just got it, good job on the uprade. I think it's going to be great as expected. And as far as my PC goes, it's still running smooth and easy, just the way I like it.  It's preety amazing what a tiny tool like "Cleanmen" can do, just simply great! Thanks a lot!
