CISCO VPN connected but unable to ping certain computers.
« on: March 06, 2010, 08:49:58 AM »
Hi,

I'm going to explain this the best way I can. We have 2 offices - Office A and Office B. I am at home and I am connected to our CISCO VPN. I can ping the DNS server of the VPN connection. I need to connect to 2 different computers, one from office A and office B. I can connect using remote desktop to the computer A but not to the computer B. I also cannot ping the server from office B. The IP address of the computer A is 192.168.83.70. My VPN IP is 192.168.18.10, DNS server is 192.168.83.5. The computer B has an IP of 192.168.85.115 and server ip is 192.168.85.5.

I do not know what to do now, I am stumped.

Please help.

Thanks..

Those computers are on different IP ranges. Thats why they don't see each other.
How ever in the other post you made, if you need to connect remotely I think teamviewer (www.teamviewer.com) is going to save you a lot of head ache

Is there any way that I can make the IPs see each other or it has to be done on the CISCO VPN server?

Well depends on the system admin. Use to be one myself, I loved helping people (As you can tell I love making things work)
Where as other admins hate the human race.

Hopefully you wont get that one lol

Good luck!
