Program says port is working, but it lists wrong IP
« on: February 16, 2010, 07:10:58 AM »
First things first:

Router: Thomson TG712

now...i went through all the steps and everything was fine (successful). However, when I go to test the port, one time it said my port was online (dont know why) but the other times it says offline and cannot be reached.

The thing that confuses me is, it says "Your Internet IP Address: x5.1x0.20x.207", BUT the IP it is listening to and is forwarded on is a different IP.

I dont know if this is what is causing the problem...but for some reason although everything says its working, it still says its offline.

Not sure if im being unclear here, but let me know if you understand what im saying/have any idea how to fix this.

I'm trying to open a port for Utorrent.

edit:

so I checked to see if I was behind multiple routers or something...out of desperation:
Status Log:
Checking for routers...

Possible 1st Router: x92.1x8.1.254

Routers Found: 1

Weirdly enough, this IP is the one the program keeps listening on and opening ports on. However, once again it is different from my actual IP address.

I'm really confused....

even further, when I use utorrent's tool to check if the port is open it says this:

Checking port 36476 on x5.x50.2x8.207...
An error has occurred!
Port 36476 does not appear to be open.

Which means it is checking the port on the IP that the program is NOT using to open the port/listen to check it....

On the port test page is your internet IP, on the program and your computer is your local IP address.
This will explain why you have 2 IP's (This is normal)

Also make sure to look at each of these on this page
