Ignore & only lists
« on: February 03, 2010, 09:17:11 PM »
I have just installed cleanmem. it does not seem to show up in processes or the scheduler but when I go to uninstall it, i get a message  that says it's running so I suppose it is.

I see a number of 32 and 64-bit ignore and only lists. Given that I'm running Windows 7 64 bit home what should I do with those?

Thanks

CleanMem only runs for a few seconds when it does run.  By default that is set to every 30 minutes.  Since it only runs for a few seconds don't expect to see it running OR taking up any memory .

As far as the lists are concerned you don't need to do anything with them unless you specifically want only certain programs to be "cleaned" by CleanMem OR if you want only certain programs to *not* be "cleaned".

For almost everyone leaving everything at the default works just fine.  Those list were added because in a few rare cases certain users needed the fine tuning that allowed.

Does that cover everything for ya?  If you need any more clarification I'll be glad to help.

Thanks for the prompt and helpful reply. You might put something about these lists in the readme since most of us non-geeks don't have a clue what such things are relevant to.

thanks Larry

Thanks for the feedback, I'll be sure to let Shane know.  There is a ton of info regarding exactly what CleanMem is and isn't here.  Give it a read if you want to know the whole story behind CleanMem.
